But then I would have to dry it

and probally re-wax it

and in the end it’ll just be covered in pollen 3 days later anyway :(

Consider it maintenance! DO it. Your car’s paint will thank you.

If you use a good Quick Detailer after you wash it, it’ll make drying it so easy and will seal in the wax. The average life of a regular wax is three to five months so unless your using a TFR or strong degreaser the wax will still be there. Adam’s QD and even better Adam’s H2O Gloss Guard will be perfect for you and they are a U.S. Company so you should be able to get them cheaper than I do. I highly recommend Adam’s Gloss Guard even by itself.

So, it would be wash car, clay bar, clean off dirt using quick detailer, wax then quick detailer again?

No. Just rinse off excess dirt, shampoo, rinse (you will remove more water by sheeting the water off by using an open end hose which will gather the water droplets), and then one panel at a time, wipe down with the QD and then done.

Claying is only done when needed. You’ll know when it’s needed by using a quick detailer on a panel and then gently using the back of your fingers glide them over the just cleaned panel, if it feels rough, then claying may be required.

So how about after you apply wax, you apply quick detailer?

If your applying wax then you want to wash then dry the car, preferably followed by a panel wipe so the wax properly bonds to the car and not to any contamination left over which will reduce the durability of the wax. You can either leave it as that or use a sealant over the top to seal it in and help prolong the life of the wax.

But if it’s just a maintenance wash you don’t need to re-wax but wash, rinse and then use the QD as a drying aid which will remove water spots and also top up the protection on top of the wax, again adding to the life of the wax as the wax will gradually break down under the sun’s UV light.
